# SetTelemetryPlaybackTime()

Requests a new telemetry playback time.

Use this function to move the current playback position to a specific time.

## Syntax

```lua
SetTelemetryPlaybackTime(telemetryTime)
```

## Parameters

### telemetryTime

Type: `number`

High-resolution Unix timestamp to use as the new telemetry playback time.

## Return value

This function does not return a value.

## Remarks

`SetTelemetryPlaybackTime()` does not change the playback time immediately.

The request is applied asynchronously. The current playback time will be updated on the next frame.

The final playback time is clamped to the available telemetry time range. If the requested time is outside the currently loaded telemetry range, Tacview will move to the closest valid time.

When telemetry is still being loaded or received, the requested time may become valid later if matching telemetry data becomes available.

Use `GetTelemetryPlaybackTime()` on a later frame to read the actual playback time after the request has been applied.

## Examples

### Move forward by one second

```lua
local currentTime = GetTelemetryPlaybackTime()

SetTelemetryPlaybackTime(currentTime + 1.0)
```

### Move back by one second

```lua
local currentTime = GetTelemetryPlaybackTime()

SetTelemetryPlaybackTime(currentTime - 1.0)
```

### Restore a saved playback position

```lua
if shortcut.telemetryTime ~= nil then

	SetTelemetryPlaybackTime(shortcut.telemetryTime)

end
```
